Prevention
Unfortunately, in our country, awareness about kidney disease is very low. There is rising incidence of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in our country. About 3 to 4 lacs of people develop End Stage Kidney Disease every year. Diabetes & Hypertension account for more than 60% cases of chronic kidney disease. Narmada Kidney Foundation believes in ‘Prevention is better than Cure.’ Understanding the need to prevent kidney disease, the foundation has been doing various activities.
Prevention & early detection camps
Detecting the “at-risk” population for kidney disease will help prevent a number of people from progression to end stage kidney disease. Regular screening camps are conducted for general public (normal population) in order to detect the presence of kidney disease or any risk factor like diabetes and high BP for development of Kidney Disease. Early detection of Kidney problems always helps to take preventive measures in time. This also helps patients and their families understand kidney diseases and options for treatment.
